The Nerja Town Hall, at the initiative of the FEMP, has called for a solidarity gathering with Ceuta for next Wednesday, September 2nd, at 20:00, under the slogan 'Nerja with Ceuta'.
The Nerja Town Hall has called for a gathering in support and solidarity with Ceuta and its residents, in response to the serious situation following the events that occurred on 30 and 31 July. The event will take place next Wednesday, September 2nd, coinciding with Ceuta Day, at 20:00 in the Town Hall's lower area.
The call comes from an initiative of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP), and the mayor, José Alberto Armijo, has previously informed the spokespersons of the Municipal Groups. The gathering will be held under the slogan “Nerja with Ceuta”.
Armijo has invited all Nerjeños and Mareños to join this show of support and has emphasised the symbolic nature of the gesture: “Nerja will stand by Ceuta and its residents in these difficult times, conveying our affection, commitment, and solidarity. Ceuta is Spain, and the people of Nerja and Mareño want to publicly and closely show that they are not alone.”
The gathering will take place in the town centre, in the lower area of the Nerja Town Hall, a location easily accessible for residents who wish to participate. The event is expected to be brief and conducted in an atmosphere of respect and unity.
With this action, Nerja joins other towns in the province that have shown their support for the autonomous city, in a gesture aimed at conveying closeness to the people of Ceuta during a delicate moment. The event is open to all citizens.
