The Nerja Town Hall opens the registration period for sports activities for seniors on September 1, with places available for gymnastics, swimming, tai-chi, and hiking.

The Nerja Town Hall has announced the opening of the registration period for the Senior Sports Activities Programme 2026/27, which will begin on September 1. Applications can be submitted from 8:00 to 14:00 hours at the Market Hall, and from September 2 also at the Senior Care Office.

To formalise the registration, it will be necessary to present the Senior Card and the ID card. Each person can process a single registration, except in the case of married couples and partners, who can do so jointly.

The programme includes gymnastics, pool activities, tai-chi, and hiking, with different groups, days, and times to facilitate participation. Activities will begin on October 14, except for hiking, which will start in November.

Gymnastics will take place on Mondays and Wednesdays and Tuesdays and Thursdays in the morning at the Verano Azul Park. Additionally, Maro will have specific groups on Mondays and Wednesdays from 11:30 to 12:30 hours.

The pool activity will be held at the Covered Pool and Pavilion, with six groups scheduled at different times between Monday and Thursday. Tai-chi will be taught on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:15 to 12:15 hours at the Municipal Sports Centre, and hiking will take place on Fridays from 8:00 to 13:00 hours starting in November.

The Town Council encourages seniors from Nerja and Maro to participate in this new season, which aims to promote active ageing, exercise practice, and healthy habits, as well as to foster coexistence and social relationships.
