The CEIP Nuestra Señora del Rosario, located in Benaoján, has completed the update of its Self-Protection Plan, a process endorsed by the Territorial Delegation of Education in Málaga. This update aims to strengthen the security measures of the educational centre amidst ongoing accessibility improvement works.
Details of the Self-Protection Plan
The plan has been developed by the centre's management in collaboration with the Technical Cabinet of the Occupational Risk Prevention Unit (UPRL) of the Territorial Delegation. Its final approval includes the validation of emergency protocols following the inspection of the spaces and the update of the evacuation plans.
This current Self-Protection Plan is coordinated not only with the main building of the centre but also with the adjacent municipal facilities, which accommodate students from Early Childhood Education and the first cycle of Primary Education while the works are ongoing.
Accessibility Works at the School
The accessibility improvement works, carried out by the Andalusian Public Agency for Education (APAE), involve an investment of over 200,000 euros. Due to delays accumulated by the subcontracted company, the Ministry has requested to accelerate the pace of execution and establish safe routes that allow for the compatibility of the work with normal educational activities.
The Territorial Delegation has indicated that the compatibility between the works and the teaching activity is supported by seven technical reports issued during September, which include assessments on compliance with safety and evacuation conditions in the provisional classrooms set up.
Finally, nearly 60 percent of the students attended class normally today. The Territorial Delegation has expressed understanding for the concerns of some families, reaffirming its commitment to provide technical information to ensure the exercise of the right to education.
