Sergio Domínguez (adults), Natalia Carmona (youth) and Jaime Domínguez (children) took the top prizes at the event held in the Paseo Real de Antequera.
The Paseo Real of Antequera hosted this Friday, 21st August, the eleventh edition of the National Porra Antequerana Competition, which brought together 20 participants in the adult, youth, and children categories as part of the Real Feria de Agosto 2026 programme.
The jury, composed of Susana López, Joaquín González, and Javier Rueda, awarded the first prize in the adult category to Sergio Domínguez, who received a diploma and 300 euros. The second place went to Juan Pablo Carmona, with 150 euros, and third place to Daniel Ramírez, with 75 euros.
In the youth category, Natalia Carmona won the first prize, worth 100 euros; Adrián Cobos secured second place with 75 euros and Daniel Ruiz came third with 50 euros. In the children’s category, Jaime Domínguez was the winner with 100 euros, followed by Marta García and Álvaro Domínguez, second and third respectively.
The award ceremony was presided over by the mayor of Antequera, Manolo Barón, the deputy mayor in charge of Major Festivals, Traditions and Flamenco Promotion, Elena Melero, and the manager of the Real Feria, Macarena Espinar. The president of ADIPA, Mariano Mir, also attended along with several councillors from the Municipal Corporation.
The competition, held at midday, once again highlighted one of the most representative dishes of the local cuisine, combining tradition and participation during the fair. The winners received their diplomas and cash prizes in a festive atmosphere that brought together locals and visitors in the Paseo Real.
