The El Maulí sports complex in Antequera is nearing the final stages of its third phase of renovations, with an investment of nearly 200,000 euros and the creation of 50 jobs through the Agricultural Employment Promotion Programme (PFEA).
The Municipal Sports Complex of El Maulí in Antequera is approaching the final stages of its third phase of renovations, which has involved an investment close to 200,000 euros and the creation of 50 job contracts through the Agricultural Employment Promotion Programme (PFEA).
The mayor of Antequera, Manolo Barón, accompanied by the deputy mayor in charge of Sports, Juan Rosas, and the delegate for Works and Maintenance, Teresa Molina, visited the site to check on the progress of the works that are already in their final phase.
The works in this phase include the installation of new sections of perimeter fencing around the petanque courts and next to the Agustín Rodríguez pavilion, as well as improvements to the courts themselves and the conditioning of a new access area to the complex.
Additionally, the covered tennis court has been completed, an infrastructure that will enhance the conditions for practicing this sport and will serve both regular users and the Municipal Tennis School.
Barón emphasised that the aim is to progressively complete a sports complex that is increasingly modern and functional, stating, “we are completing this complex step by step, incorporating more and more improvements to achieve sports facilities of the highest quality.”
The comprehensive project also includes continuing the organisation of access and a future reception and concierge area, which will complete the entry, control, and user assistance system. “More investment in sports means more investment in people,” the mayor concluded.
