Two orphaned minors
The couple had been registered in the VioGén system since 2023 due to an episode of mistreatment. However, last week both had requested the withdrawal of protective measures. The couple had two children aged 4 and 7, who are now orphaned.
The Antequera City Council has declared two days of official mourning, Tuesday 21 and Wednesday 22 July. During this period, flags on municipal buildings will fly at half-mast and bear a black ribbon. An extraordinary plenary session and a citizens' gathering have also been called for this Wednesday at 12:00 in San Sebastián Square.

The mayor of Antequera, Manuel Barón, has expressed condolences to the family and reiterated the Council's condemnation of misogynistic violence.
