The Antequera Solidarity Platform begins the XV School Supplies Collection Campaign on July 15, which will run until September 18 to support vulnerable families.
The XV Solidarity School Supplies Collection Campaign will kick off on July 15 in Antequera with the aim of ensuring that no child in the municipality and its districts starts the school year without the necessary supplies. The initiative, which will extend until September 18, is organised by the Antequera Solidarity Platform and the Platform for the Promotion of Volunteering in the Antequera Region.
Institutional and social collaboration
The campaign is supported by the Antequera City Council, Red Cross, the San José de Calasanz Foundation, and Papelería San Agustín. These entities are joining forces to ensure equal opportunities in access to education and to support families in economic vulnerability.
The organisers are calling on the public to donate new school supplies: pencils, crayons, felt-tip pens, folders, notebooks, pads, backpacks, pencil cases, rulers, pens, erasers, sharpeners, dictionaries, scissors, sheets, and other basic resources for the school year.
Collection and distribution points
Donations can be delivered at various establishments in Antequera: Papelería La Quinta, Imprenta el Progreso, Alfil.be Papelería & Hobby (C/ Calzada), Librería Papelería Aragón (C/ Infante Don Fernando, 7), Papelería Las Descalzas, Papelería París (Plaza Fernández Viagas), and the Youth Centre.
Once the collection is finished, the materials will be taken to the headquarters of the Antequera Solidarity Platform, where volunteers will sort and distribute them in coordination with educational centres, which identify students in need.
Balance of the previous edition
In the 2025 campaign, 180 schoolchildren received school supplies and textbooks. The total value of the aid exceeded 7,041.96 euros, in addition to the materials donated by entities and individuals. The organisation highlights the contribution of the San José de Calasanz Foundation, whose financial support was key to expanding the reach.
“Every notebook, backpack, or pencil donated represents an opportunity for a student to start the school year on equal terms. Together we can ensure that no child’s education is limited by a lack of resources.”
The promoting entities encourage neighbours, businesses, groups, and social entities to join this solidarity initiative, which demonstrates Antequera's commitment to education and equal opportunities. The campaign will remain active until September 18, and interested parties can check the collection points on the platform's social media.
