The Civil Guard has arrested three men involved in a shooting that occurred on August 16 in Isla Cristina, Huelva, which resulted in the deaths of three people. Among the victims were a minor unrelated to the clashes between clans and a woman who was eight months pregnant.
The arrests were made as part of an investigation that has gathered evidence and conducted inspections at the scene. The operation has been kept under judicial secrecy while the perpetrators of the crime are identified.
Arrests and searches in Huelva
On September 8, the Civil Guard carried out a large operation with more than 80 agents to conduct five simultaneous searches in homes in Huelva city. This operation was judicially authorized after detecting the connection of the detainees to the murder.
During these searches, agents seized a firearm, nearly 30,000 euros in cash, around twenty mobile phones, bulletproof vests, a taser, and documents related to the events.
Charges and next steps
The three detained individuals, men aged between 24 and 36, are charged with murder, considering the unborn baby as one of the victims, as well as belonging to a criminal organization. In the coming days, the detainees and the seized items will be presented before the Plaza 3 Court of First Instance in Ayamonte.
The investigation, coordinated by the Judicial Police of the Huelva Command and supported by the Ayamonte Team, remains open. New arrests are not ruled out given the complexity of the case and the danger posed by those involved.
The operations have involved the participation of the Special Intervention Unit (UEI), the Rapid Action Group (GAR), a helicopter, and specialized canine resources.
