Marbella hosts the second edition of the Awards for Female Entrepreneurship and Leadership in the Province of Málaga, with five winners in different categories. The awardees become candidates for the Andalusian awards.
The awards ceremony for the II Awards for Female Entrepreneurship and Leadership in the Province of Málaga took place this Thursday in Marbella, at an event organized by Combo Comunicación and the Marbella City Council as part of the Andalusian circuit Unimos Talento. The call gathered 27 applications across five categories.
The mayor, Ángeles Muñoz, congratulated the winners and highlighted the effort and journey behind each recognition.
“We must not only talk about equality, but it is also necessary to put names, faces, and above all, the trajectories of those who are paving the way”
Muñoz encouraged identifying the awardees as “close references” and emphasized that “an idea can become a business, a vocation can become a profession, and talent, when it finds opportunities, can transform a life and also transform a society.”
The mayor thanked Combo Comunicación and the Forum of Women Leaders of Andalusia for choosing Marbella for this second provincial edition. She also provided data about the municipality: nearly 16,000 self-employed workers, the highest number in its history, and an unemployment rate of 7.3 percent, the lowest in the last 20 years.
María José Segura Escobar, CEO of Combo Comunicación and president of the Forum of Women Leaders of Andalusia, explained that Unimos Talento is a travelling project that covers all Andalusian provinces and the autonomous city of Melilla, with more than 2,500 people involved.
The awardees were: Elena Cuberos Gómez, General Director of Exxacon Smart Living, in Female Professional Trajectory; Ana María Cabello García, Managing Director of the Rafael Pérez Estrada Foundation of the Málaga City Council, in Female Culture; Rocío Fernández Barrientos, founder and CEO of CUIMA, in Female Innovative Project; Raquel Poncela González, Director of Digital Services and Innovation at the National Mint and Stamp Factory, in Female Science and Technology; and the CADI Association, Diversity Care Centre, in Female Sports.
The event included a round table on managing female talent and business experiences in favour of equality, with professionals from the academic, legal, tourism, technology, business, and financial sectors. The day concluded with a speech by Lourdes Millán, awarded in 2025 in the category of Professional Trajectory.
The five women and the awarded entity in Marbella become candidates for the Awards for Female Entrepreneurship and Leadership in Andalusia.
