The presenter Agustín Bravo is considering leading the Por Mi Pueblo (PMP) list in Marbella for the May 2027 elections. The proposal comes from the mayors of Ojén and Benamocarra.
The radio and television presenter Agustín Bravo is evaluating the leap into politics as the head of the Por Mi Pueblo (PMP) list in Marbella for the municipal elections in May 2027. The offer was conveyed to him by the party's general secretary and mayor of Ojén, Juan Merino, and the founder and mayor of Benamocarra, Abdeslam Lucena, in a meeting held at the end of last week.
Bravo, born in Almaraz (Cáceres) in 1961, confirmed to this newspaper that he is studying the proposal "carefully," which he considers "a manifest responsibility as it is something very serious." The communicator assured that he will communicate his decision to the party leaders once it is made.

PMP highlights Bravo's personal and professional ties to Marbella, where he resides, and his ability to communicate and connect with the locals. They believe he possesses the qualities to "drive a municipal project focused on the needs of the citizens."
"The proposal arises with the aim of reinforcing a municipal alternative based on defending the interests of Marbella, community participation, and a close, transparent, and effective management of public resources," the party sources stated.
PMP emphasizes that Marbella, the second largest city in the province by population, needs a project that places the municipality and its inhabitants at the centre of political action, with solutions in housing, mobility, public services, cleanliness, sustainable economic development, and improving quality of life.
The party adds that the inclusion of a profile with the trajectory and public recognition of Agustín Bravo would mean "a boost to build an open, inclusive candidacy capable of representing all sectors of Marbella society."
A well-known face on television, Bravo has worked at TVE (on the team of Jesús Hermida), Telecinco (he presented Telecupón with Carmen Sevilla and was a contestant on Supervivientes), Antena 3, Canal Sur (he hosted Bravo por la tarde), and Canal Extremadura. In 2001, he received the Antena de Oro award for best presenter.
In radio, he began his professional career and has been on the airwaves of COPE and Onda Cero Madrid Sur. Married to the Malagueña Susana Abad, Bravo teaches classes in public speaking and communication.
For its part, PMP governs in four municipalities in Málaga: Ojén, Benamocarra, Igualeja, and Cómpeta, and is part of the municipal government of Mijas. Bravo's decision is expected in the coming weeks, before the candidacies are formed.
