The Civil Guard has rescued two women who were victims of sexual exploitation in the town of Callosa de Segura, Alicante, and has proceeded to arrest a couple aged 59 and 66 for the crimes of human trafficking for sexual exploitation and illegal detention.

Operation Details

The women were lured through false job offers and subsequently forced into prostitution in a venue. One of the victims managed to alert the authorities via 112, stating that she was being held against her will and that she was owed money, in addition to not having access to her documentation.

After receiving the report, a Civil Guard patrol went to the location and interviewed the victim, who recounted the difficulties she faced after accepting a job offer as a waitress. Upon arriving at the venue, she was informed that she had to engage in prostitution and, lacking money and documentation, she felt compelled to accept this situation of exploitation.

Intervention and Arrests

The authorities conducted a search of the property, which operated as a bar on the ground floor and as a site of sexual exploitation on the upper floor. During the intervention, the agents arrested the two individuals responsible for the establishment and found another woman who was also being exploited.

During the search, 30,000 euros in cash were seized, hidden in the residence, along with abundant documentation related to the criminal activity, including notes on the rates and services imposed on the victims. The initial analysis of the documentation allowed for the identification of a third victim, who is also receiving support.

The detainees have been charged and have been placed in provisional custody. Those who detect situations of trafficking for sexual exploitation can contact the phone number 016, which offers free and confidential assistance, or use other communication means such as the AlertCops app.
