The Urbanism Council has awarded the management of the 'Ferrocarril del Puerto' unit to Euro Andalucía Eventos S.L., which will be responsible for the planning and development of the area.

The City Council of Málaga has taken a key step towards the transformation of the area known as 'El Bulto', in the Carretera de Cádiz district. The Urbanism Council, meeting this Friday in an extraordinary session, has approved the awarding of the urban developer status for the execution unit SUNC-R.LO.1 'Ferrocarril del Puerto' to the company Euro Andalucía Eventos S.L.

This entity, which was the only bidder that met all the requirements of the tender, will be responsible for the indirect public management of the area through a cooperation system. Its functions include both the detailed planning of the sector, through an Interior Reform Plan (PRI), and the execution of the development works.

The selection process consisted of two phases. In the first, the best 'Technical Alternative' was chosen, which also fell to Euro Andalucía Eventos. In the second, the legal-economic proposals presented for that alternative were evaluated, resulting in the same company being awarded again.

The council also rejected the offer submitted by the temporary union 'YU Sustainable Communities, S.L.-Guamar, S.A.' as it considered that their proposal did not comply with the technical specifications of the terms of reference nor with the selected technical alternative.

This area, located in a strategic zone of the Carretera de Cádiz district, represents an opportunity for urban regeneration of the area. The development will allow for the creation of new public spaces and housing, as well as the improvement of existing infrastructure.

On another note, the Urbanism Council has approved the expropriation file for a property at number 10 Picacho Street, necessary for the execution of the pedestrian connectivity project on the slope of Mount Gibralfaro. The land has been valued at 48,974.87 euros, including 5% of the price of impact.

This action is part of the City Council's efforts to improve pedestrian mobility and the connection between the historic centre and Mount Gibralfaro, a route highly demanded by residents and tourists.
