The Junta of Andalusia promotes the construction of protected housing in Antequera

The town of Antequera was the setting for a meeting between the Minister of Housing, Youth and Land Planning, Rocío Díaz, and representatives of FADECO, where the need to accelerate the construction of protected housing in Andalusia was discussed.

Public-private collaboration for affordable housing

Rocío Díaz highlighted that the Junta of Andalusia will strengthen collaboration with municipalities, public companies, and private developers in the construction of affordable housing. This measure aims to respond to the high demand currently existing in the housing market.

During the last legislative term, over 300 million euros were allocated in aid to developers, resulting in the construction of approximately 7,000 homes. According to Díaz, it is essential to optimise the available resources of the administration and combine efforts to increase the supply of protected housing.

Instruments and programs in progress

One of the most notable programs is the Promotion of the Protected Rental Housing Stock, which provides subsidies to both public and private developers. This initiative facilitates the construction and rehabilitation of homes intended for rent and use transfer.

Additionally, the minister mentioned that the Junta will mobilise public land for the construction of 3,678 new homes through the 2026 Annual Asset Disposal Plan. She also emphasised the importance of collaboration with the private initiative, which includes the exchange of public land for protected housing, a mechanism that has proven effective in previous projects.
