The Junta of Andalucía has held a trade meeting in the United States focused on the aerospace industry, where more than 350 business meetings took place. This event occurred in October 2026 and was held in various locations in Texas, Oklahoma, and Kansas.
Strong interest from Andalusian companies
The participating companies in this trade mission include Sonaca Spain, Mades, Sofitec Aero, Aero SM, and Lamaignere Cargo. These companies have had the opportunity to connect with major industry players such as Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Bell Helicopter, and Textron.
The mission focused on two important aerospace hubs: Oklahoma City and Wichita. In addition to the business meetings, the local companies were introduced to the project Invest in Andalucía, which aims to attract foreign investments to the sector.
Relevance of the Andalusian aerospace sector
The Andalusian aerospace sector, after closing 2025 with a turnover of 3.228 billion euros and over 16,391 jobs, ranks second in exports in Spain, with shipments to the United States amounting to 2.150 billion euros.
The United States has established itself as a global hub in the aerospace industry, with a strong ecosystem that attracts foreign investments, reaching over 20 billion dollars in direct investment. This makes it a key market for Andalusian companies seeking international expansion.
The US aerospace sector significantly contributes to the country's economy, with an approximate value of 443 billion dollars, representing around 1.5% of the national GDP and generating over 2.2 million jobs. Its projections indicate continued growth, reaching 610 billion dollars by 2031.
The trade mission promoted by the Junta is co-financed with funds from the European Union, under the Operational Programme FEDER of Andalucía 2021-2027, highlighting its importance and international support.
