Last Tuesday, in Málaga, a meeting took place between the Councillor for Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development, Ramón Fernández-Pacheco, and the Executive Committee of the Association of Water Supply and Sanitation of Andalucía (ASA Andalucía).
Importance of ASA Andalucía
During the meeting, Fernández-Pacheco highlighted the fundamental role of ASA Andalucía as an essential interlocutor in improving water management. The association represents the main operators in the urban water cycle, making it a key partner in this area.
The councillor stressed that ensuring water availability is one of the major challenges for the Andalusian community. He reiterated that water will remain a priority throughout the legislative term, as it is crucial to address its management consistently and not just during periods of drought.
Challenges and Priorities in Water Management
In his conversation with the association, Fernández-Pacheco discussed the legislative priorities related to water, as well as their impact on economic competitiveness and the balanced development of territories. In this context, he also acknowledged the effort that ASA Andalucía has made over the last four decades to improve water management, modernise the urban cycle, and provide an essential service to millions of Andalusians.
