Málaga Fair 2026 is preparing to exceed 1.4 million visitors between the Day Fair and the Night Fair, according to municipal forecasts. The Cortijo de Torres venue, the epicentre of the night festivities, has an estimated maximum capacity of 90,000 people at a time, although the continuous flow will prevent prolonged overcrowding.
The celebration, which commemorates the city's incorporation into the Crown of Castile in 1487, maintains its dual setting: the Historic Centre for the Day Fair and the Real for the Night Fair, featuring booths, concerts, and attractions. The blend of tradition, modernity, and Mediterranean character continues to define an event that the people of Málaga feel is their own.
The City Council has activated a special security plan with surveillance drones at strategic points, control cameras at access points and areas of high foot traffic, and a pilot project for anti-drugging bracelets that detect substances in drinks. The presence of Local and National Police and health services will be reinforced, along with violet points to address any incidents.
The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) forecasts highs of 35 degrees for several days, prompting authorities to recommend constant hydration, avoiding direct sunlight between 1:00 PM and 5:00 PM, and wearing light clothing and hats. It is also advised to alternate festive drinks with water and carry a reusable bottle.
The programme includes free concerts at the Real, flamenco and verdiales shows, children's activities, and traditional booths. The presence of national artists at the Municipal Auditorium, personalities from film and music, and delegations from sister cities with Málaga is also expected.
