Málaga Civil Hospital, part of the Regional University Hospital of the city, will have a provisional car park offering 750 spaces from August 25, designated for patients, users, and professionals in the area.
This new space will be available from 06:00 on Tuesday, and aims to improve parking capacity around the hospital while the construction of the new Virgen de la Esperanza Hospital progresses.
Details about the provisional car park
The car park has been set up as part of the initiatives related to the construction of the future hospital, which is being carried out by the UTE Sando-OHLA-Vialterra. Of the 750 spaces, 163 are designated for professionals with discounted conditions, while the remaining 587 will be open for general use without discounts.
This measure is temporary and is implemented to meet the parking needs of those attending the hospital for medical reasons, as well as their companions and the staff working at the institution.
Future of Virgen de la Esperanza Hospital
The project for the new Virgen de la Esperanza Hospital includes the construction of a permanent car park with approximately 2,000 spaces, designed to meet the parking needs associated with both the new centre and the hospital environment as a whole. This infrastructure will gradually replace the provisional solutions that have been established during the various phases of the work.
The new hospital will also feature significant facilities, including 815 rooms, 48 operating theatres, 80 ICU beds, and 158 spaces dedicated to various medical specialties, as well as areas for teaching and research.
The construction of this new infrastructure is leading to a progressive reorganisation of the area surrounding the Civil Hospital, adapting spaces, access, and parking to the demands of each phase of the project.
