The Málaga City Council urges avoiding swimming at Campo de Golf, Sacaba, Misericordia, and San Andrés after detecting E. coli in samples taken by Emasa. Analyses will be repeated in the coming days.
The Málaga City Council has activated the protocol to protect the health of bathers and recommends not entering the water at the beaches of Campo de Golf, Sacaba, Misericordia, and San Andrés. This measure is preventive and responds to the presence of the E. coli bacteria in the samples taken by Emasa.
The recommendation was adopted after the Health Department communicated the results of those analyses. The council has not specified the level of bacteria detected nor how long the warning will remain in effect.
Analyses will continue to be repeated over the coming days to monitor the evolution of the situation. According to the City Council, this episode is motivated by the discharges that occurred in accordance with current regulations due to the rain last Monday the 28th, a day with a yellow warning from Aemet.

The warning affects four beaches along the coast of the capital, including some of the most crowded. Until new analyses are known, the municipal recommendation is not to swim in those areas.
