The Andalusian government has reported that during the 2026-2027 call, the largest number of Specialised Health Training (FSE) places in its history will be offered, reaching a total of 2,068 places.
This increase in places represents a rise of 76 compared to the previous year, and an increase of nearly 40% since 2019. In the province of Málaga, 379 places will be offered, a significant number within this new call.
Distribution of Offered Places
According to the First Vice President and Minister of Presidency, Health and Emergencies, Antonio Sanz, the new call is designed to meet the current and future needs of the health system. It includes the offer of 1,571 places in Medicine, 364 in Nursing, 59 in Pharmacy, and 48 in Psychology, among other specialties.
One of the most notable innovations is the boost to the specialty of Emergency and Urgent Medicine, which increases its places from 11 to 36, highlighting the development of this specialty in Andalusia.
Additionally, places are increasing in essential areas such as Family and Community Medicine (442 places), Internal Medicine, and various nursing and psychology specialties, contributing to ensuring quality healthcare.
Increase in Teaching Capacity
Alongside this increase in the number of places, there has been a growth in the teaching capacity of the Public Health System of Andalusia. For the 2026-2027 call, 2,158 accredited places are available, representing an increase of 68 from the previous year and 357 more since 2019.
Antonio Sanz has noted that this increase reflects the efforts of health centres and their teaching units to expand their training capacity. With the new proposal, the Andalusian government reaffirms its commitment to the sustained growth of specialised training in the health sector.
Specialised Health Training is considered essential to ensure the future availability of qualified professionals, thereby guaranteeing the sustainability of the public health system in the region.
