The Civil Guard has carried out an operation against a British-origin criminal organisation dedicated to international cocaine trafficking, dismantling its activity in Málaga.
Operation details
As part of this operation, known as Miscelanea, one tonne of cocaine has been seized, and one person has been arrested in Granada, while five international arrest warrants have been requested for other members of the organisation who have moved to the United Kingdom.
The investigation began after the interception of a van in Talavera La Real (Badajoz), which was transporting 423 kilograms of cocaine. Although the driver managed to escape, agents determined that the vehicle had left Estepona, leading to intensified operations in the area.
Subsequently, in an industrial estate in Baza (Granada), agents found 326 kilograms of cocaine in a van that was being followed due to suspicious activity, successfully leading to the arrest of its driver.
Seizures and arrests
Following this intervention, a search was conducted in Estepona where another 265 kilograms of cocaine were found, along with military weapons, a firearm, ammunition, and cash.
Agents from the Organic Judicial Police Unit of the Civil Guard Command in Málaga, supported by other bodies, carried out this operation. The arrested individual has been placed at the disposal of the judge, who has ordered their unconditional imprisonment.
The investigation indicates that the other members of the organisation fled after the arrests, which is why international arrest warrants have been requested.
