Barakaldo has been selected to host the first Cyber Station of the Civil Guard, with the intention of strengthening the response to cybercrime in the digital realm. This unit, which is part of the Cyber Command, will begin operating with a specialized team for receiving complaints.
Functions and objectives of the Cyber Station
One of the main functions of the new Cyber Station will be the management of complaints made electronically by citizens through the Civil Guard's electronic headquarters, with a special emphasis on crimes such as fraud and other criminal acts committed using computer means.
The implementation of this service aims to facilitate a more agile process for citizens, allowing them to initiate their complaints via the internet. With this, the Civil Guard hopes to provide a more efficient response to digital crimes.
Investigation and coordination
The Cyber Station will also have a Team @, responsible for conducting investigations into cybercrimes. This team will constantly coordinate with the resources of the Cyber Command to ensure a comprehensive response to crimes occurring in cyberspace.
The creation of the Barakaldo Cyber Station, which will start its activities with a staff of 20 civil guards, represents a significant advance in the fight against cybercrime and in designing a model that combines electronic reporting with specialized investigation.
This effort adds to the expansion of the Civil Guard's attention services, which has been operating in the digital realm since the launch of electronic reporting on July 4, 2025, providing assistance 24/7 every day of the year.
Citizens can use the Civil Guard's electronic headquarters to file complaints about fraud, vehicle theft, theft, damage, and any loss of official documentation, using an electronic certificate for this purpose.
