320 athletes competed at the Enrique López stadium in Nerja during the Andalusian Championship. The internationals Una Stancev, Laura Aguilera, Daniel Rodríguez, Alberto González, and Isidoro Leyva took home gold.

The Enrique López stadium in Nerja was the venue for the Andalusian Athletics Championship, which brought together 320 athletes this weekend. The internationals did not disappoint and lived up to expectations with gold medals in their respective events.

Dominance of the internationals in the Nerja Regional

The Granadian Una Stancev, world university champion in high jump, dominated the competition with a best jump of 1.80 meters. This performance strengthens her ahead of the Spanish Championship, which will take place in Málaga from July 24 to 26.

The Malagueña Laura Aguilera, one of the leading figures in combined events, competed in the 400-meter hurdles and won with a time of 58.64 seconds. Her performance in Nerja confirms her good form.

The Jaen athlete Alberto González, European hammer champion, dominated this event with a best throw of 64.92 meters. The event was won out of competition by the Madrilenian Kevin Arreaga with 69.10 meters.

Speed and high jumps

The Granadian Daniel Rodríguez, a sprinter with national medals, won the 200 meters with a time of 21.06 seconds. The Gaditana Marina Delgado also won in this distance with 23.95 seconds.

Isidoro Leyva, a Malagueño based in Almería but originally from Nerja, asserted his dominance in pole vaulting with a mark of 5.41 meters that earned him gold. The local crowd especially celebrated his victory.

The Sevillian Ana Estrella de León, one of Spain's triple jump prospects, followed the script and won with a best jump of 13.35 meters.

Surprise in the 5,000 meters

The Cordoban Miguel Ruiz surprised everyone in the 5,000 meters by defeating the Huelva athlete Zakaria Boufaljat, the champion and record holder of the 10K, with a time of 14:22 compared to his rival's 14:25. Boufaljat had to settle for silver.

For the Nerja fans, the championship was an opportunity to see some of the best athletes from Andalusia in action. The Enrique López stadium recorded a good turnout, with a festive and sporting atmosphere.

The Spanish Championship will be held in Málaga from July 24 to 26, where several of these athletes will seek new personal bests and, hopefully, some records.
