The tenth edition kicks off with a programme of activities to promote coexistence and well-being for the seniors of Nerja and Maro. Teacher Juan Luis Medina receives the 7th Good Practices Award for his educational and cultural career.
The 10th Senior Week of Nerja and Maro began this Monday with an inaugural event where the 7th Good Practices Award was presented to teacher Juan Luis Medina Olmos. The recognition highlights his career as a teacher, his connection to Nerja's culture through the Coral Alminares, and his work in preserving popular traditions and festivities of the municipality.
The deputy mayor, Ángela Díaz, congratulated the awardee and noted that the award recognises "his career and, very especially, his years dedicated to educating and training generations of children from our town." Díaz added that it also distinguishes "all those years in which he has continued to dedicate his time, knowledge, and passion to the service of local culture and traditions."

For her part, the councillor for Seniors, Elena Gálvez, reaffirmed the Nerja Town Hall's commitment to this group: "a commitment that we want to continue strengthening with initiatives that promote your participation, your well-being, and your full integration into the social life of Nerja and Maro."

The event concluded with a poetry reading by students from the Workshop of the Senses Theatre for seniors, directed by Rocío Delgado. The Senior Week includes a programme of activities that will take place in the coming days in Nerja and Maro.
