The Antequera club strengthens its offensive line with the arrival of Julio Morgado, a 31-year-old pivot with experience in División de Honor Plata and Primera Nacional.

Balonmano Dólmenes Antequera has finalised the signing of pivot Julio Morgado, a 31-year-old player coming from Proin Sevilla after a long career in national handball. The agreement, which bolsters the team's interior play, was made official this week.

A career forged in the silver league

Born in Lora del Río (Sevilla), Morgado began his career at ARS Palma del Río, where he played for eight seasons in División de Honor Plata. After a brief stint at Córdoba BM, he returned to Palma del Río to play in Primera Nacional before joining Proin Sevilla, where he completed the last four seasons alternating between both categories.

In the past season, the new player for Dólmenes achieved promotion to Asobal with Proin Sevilla, a milestone that underscores his competitive ability. Now, the Antequera club hopes that his experience will be key in facing the challenges of División de Honor Plata.

A physical profile for attack

Morgado stands out for his imposing physique and his ability to dominate in the six-metre line. His bulk, strength in back-to-goal play, and skill in creating space make him an offensive reference, according to club sources. The player is excited about his new stage and assures that he will bring "power and work" to the team.

With this signing, Balonmano Dólmenes Antequera adds an experienced pivot looking to establish himself in the silver category. The Antequera fans are already looking forward to seeing him in action next season.

A reinforcement for the club's objective

The Dólmenes management has highlighted that Morgado's arrival responds to the need to provide the team with solidity in attack and a reference at pivot. "He is a player who knows the category well and will give us a competitive edge," they state from the club. The team, which is already working on planning the season, expects to announce more signings in the coming weeks.

For handball fans in Antequera, this news brings optimism for a campaign in which the club will seek to improve its position in the table. The first match of the season is scheduled for September, although the official calendar has yet to be confirmed.
