The bullfighter from Huelva takes the award after cutting three ears in the Goyesca Bullfight on Sunday, surpassing Juan Ortega and Pablo Aguado.
The matador David de Miranda has been recognised as the winner of the Goyesca Bullfight of the Real Feria de Agosto de Antequera 2026, held this Sunday, August 23 at the Plaza de Toros in the city. The bullfighter from Huelva achieved three ears, compared to two for Juan Ortega and one for Pablo Aguado.
The award, granted by the City Council of Antequera in collaboration with the Peña Taurina Los Cabales, was presented by the mayor Manolo Barón; the deputy mayor in charge of Major Festivals and Traditions, Elena Melero; the president of the peña, Juan Herrera; the bullfighting entrepreneur Jorge Buendía, and the master Enrique Ponce. The presentation took place moments after the bullfight ended and before the winner was carried out on shoulders alongside Juan Ortega.
The trophy reproduces the Jarra de Azucenas, one of the most representative symbols of Antequera, and reaffirms this recognition for the best matador of one of the most traditional festivities of the fair.
The Feria Taurina de Antequera 2026 has concluded with a remarkable artistic balance, with the opening of the Puerta Grande on both days. On Saturday, in the rejones event, Andy Cartagena (three ears), Diego Ventura (three ears and a tail), and Leonardo Hernández (two ears) were carried out on shoulders. This Sunday, in addition to Miranda and Ortega, the plaza experienced another great afternoon.
With this award, the City Council and the Peña Taurina Los Cabales conclude another edition of the Goyesca, which has established itself as an unmissable event for fans in the region.
