The interior of Málaga will approach 40 degrees this Monday and Tuesday

Aemet issues yellow warnings in Ronda, Antequera, Sol and Guadalhorce. Temperatures could reach 40 degrees in parts of the interior of the province.

Thermometers will rise again in the province of Málaga at the start of the week. The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has activated yellow warnings for high temperatures this Monday and Tuesday in several regions, with maximums that could reach 40 degrees in parts of the interior.

Regions under yellow warning

For Monday, the regions of Ronda, Antequera, Sol (which includes the capital) and Guadalhorce, along with Axarquía, will be under yellow warning from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM. In these areas, maximum temperatures will range between 38 and 40 degrees, especially in the valleys and low-lying areas of the interior.

On Tuesday, the warning remains in the same regions, except for Axarquía, which is excluded from the alert. According to Aemet's forecasts, Antequera, Ronda, Sol and Guadalhorce will again reach 38 degrees or more, with peaks of up to 40 in towns like Álora or Campillos.

Recommendations for residents

In light of these temperatures, Aemet recommends avoiding sun exposure during the hottest hours of the day, drinking plenty of water, and paying special attention to elderly people, children, and pets. In Málaga capital, maximums will hover around 34 degrees, but the thermal sensation will be higher due to humidity.

Residents in the affected regions should take extra precautions during outdoor activities. The use of sunscreen and light clothing is essential, as well as not leaving anyone inside parked vehicles.

The rest of Andalusia: orange alert in Córdoba, Granada and Jaén

While the level in Málaga is yellow, in other Andalusian provinces the alert is orange. Córdoba, Granada and Jaén will be under orange warning for temperatures of up to 40 degrees. In Almería, Cádiz and Sevilla, there is also a yellow warning, while Huelva is the only province free from alerts.

Aemet also warns of the possibility of locally strong storms in the northeast of Andalusia during the afternoon of Monday, accompanied by suspended dust that could leave mud deposits.

For Wednesday, a slight decrease in temperatures is expected, although the heat will remain intense in the interior of the province. The people of Málaga will have to cope with high temperatures at least until the middle of the week.
