In Málaga, the application period for travel aid aimed at students who completed their training in companies during the 2025/2026 academic year has opened. This aid, granted by the Ministry of Education, has a budget of €3.7 million.

Beneficiaries can receive between €100 and €1,000 depending on various factors. To qualify for the aid, students must have completed at least 80% of the scheduled days in the professional module of Training in Work Centres and have travelled a minimum distance of 5 km for the transfer. Additionally, their per capita income must not exceed the Public Indicator of Multiple Effects Income (IPREM).

Changes in the call

Unlike previous years, the predetermined territorial distribution by provinces and the points-based scoring system have been eliminated, implementing a fairer approach. A maximum family income threshold of 100% of the IPREM is now allowed, which will likely increase the number of beneficiaries.

Applications will be evaluated based on the family per capita income, prioritising those with lower incomes or vulnerable situations. To this end, a base amount is established that considers factors such as attendance days, travel distance, and the official cost for using a private vehicle.

Help brackets and bonuses

The amounts will depend on the income bracket to which the student belongs. The first bracket includes victims of terrorism or their children, who will receive 100% of the base amount. The second bracket covers incomes between 0.25 and 0.50 of the IPREM, which will assign them 80% of the aid. The third bracket is for incomes between 0.50 and 0.75 of the IPREM, with 60% of the base amount.

Finally, the fourth bracket covers families with incomes above 0.75 of the IPREM, who will receive 40%. Additional increments can be added to the calculated amount to assist specific disadvantage situations. In any case, the final aid cannot be less than €100 or more than €1,000 per person.

All these aids are co-financed by the European Social Fund Plus, within the FSE+ Programme of Andalusia 2021-2027.
