The political party condemns the five femicides that occurred in three weeks in Mijas, Antequera, Benahavís, and Rincón de la Victoria and calls for urgent measures.
Adelante Andalucía has expressed its outrage and condemnation regarding the five femicides recorded in the province of Málaga over the past three weeks. The party has called for more protection for victims, judicial reinforcement, and the implementation of affective-sexual coeducation in classrooms.
In a statement, the organization has painfully recalled the names of the murdered women: Patricia and her mother María in Mijas; María, a victim in Antequera; the woman found dead in Benahavís; and Cristina, in Rincón de la Victoria. Adelante Andalucía has conveyed its solidarity to the families and loved ones.
The party believes that this surge in gender-based violence highlights failures in the protection system. They point to the overload in the Courts of Violence against Women, the lack of specialized personnel, and the scarcity of housing resources and comprehensive support for victims.
Adelante Andalucía has also warned about the impact of denialist discourses on gender violence, which, according to the organization, represent a setback in women's rights and weaken prevention and assistance policies.
The party demands an immediate increase in investment in equality policies, reinforcement of judicial staff in the province of Málaga, and the implementation of coeducation in educational centres. They believe that eradicating gender-based violence must be an absolute priority for all administrations.
The organization has urged for a firm institutional response to prevent further victims from being mourned. The five deaths have shocked the province and reopened the debate on the effectiveness of current resources against gender violence.
